sukkot = rapture

I like this post by Mary Fairchild very informative and has pictures for the simple minded like me.

Fairchild, Mary. “What Does the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) Mean to Christians?” Learn Religions, Aug. 25, 2020, learnreligions.com/feast-of-tabernacles-700181.

The title is: What Does the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) Mean to Christians? I want to add a major point to this meaning by proposing that this dwelling in booths is actually a precursor to the rapture event. Matt 24:31

Isaiah 26:19-21 WEB
19  Your dead shall live. My dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth will cast out the departed spirits.
20  Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past.
21  For, behold, Yahweh comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.

I have sketched out the concept in this blog post:

https://theorangemailmanmyblog.wordpress.com/2009/04/27/why-is-psalm-96-quoted-in-i-chronicles-16/

TOM>
The Apocalypse of the Sabbath, also known as Psalm 92-99.

rapazoe> YES the great Sabbath
Psa 96:1  Sing to Yahweh a new song! Sing to Yahweh, all the earth.
Psa 96:2  Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!

why a new song?
why not just continue with the song of Moses ?

Deu 34:4  Yahweh said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”

Psa 96:13  before Yahweh; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, the peoples with his truth.

rapazoe> Yes
Yes He will judge the earth in His wrath …
Consider the walls of Jericho …

rapazoe> wow – a rapture verse !!!
1Ch 16:35  Say, “Save us, God of our salvation! Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.”

Heb 11:30  By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been encircled for seven days.

rapazoe> by faith
by faith … not by works of Moses law.
so Moses was not the one to lead the people of God into the promised land.
Joshua another name for Jesus is the one to lead the people of God into the Kingdom.

rapazoe> Who dat ?
The Commander of the Lord’s Army
Jos 5:13  When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our enemies?”
Jos 5:14  He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of Yahweh’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”
Jos 5:15  The prince of Yahweh’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your shoes; for the place on which you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.

Joshua an OT type of Jesus
Deu 34:9  Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands on him. The children of Israel listened to him, and did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

rapazoe> sounds like Revelation
Jos 6:3  All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.
Jos 6:4  Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
Jos 6:5  It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the city wall shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”
Jos 6:6  Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh’s ark.”

pre-wrath probs

the following post is in response to this post:

https://theorangemailmanmyblog.wordpress.com/2020/09/14/7-pretrib-problems-and-the-prewrath-rapture-full-movie/

Hey Major TOM … thanks for the summary and link – I did watch the video – comments below

TOM> video which support the PreWrath Rapture position and exposes the problems with the Pre-Tribulational Rapture position.

rapazoe> now just need a video exposing the problems with PreWrath Rapture
1. problem of flipping Matt 24: 29,30,31 (DOL, parousia, rapture)
to read 31,30,29 (rapture, parousia, DOL)
This is more than a problem … it is a great offense to the alter the Word of God in this way … it is a great sin to mangle the Word of God.
2. problem interpreting “cut short” that PreWrath interprets as meaning number of day …. when it should really be interpreted “those days” the program of Satan’s holocaust

TOM> Keep in mind this is only a summary which will not do the video justice.
rapazoe> Good job with your summary … I actually prefer it to the video … need time to ponder what is being proposed.

TOM> I. The first problem is called the Precursor Problem.
When does the wrath of God begin?
rapazoe> 7th seal – easy peasy

TOM> When does the Day of the LORD begin?
rapazoe> 6th seal & Matt 24:29 … no problem … easy peasy

TOM> There are at least 4 events that will occur before the Day of the LORD.
TOM> Pretrib believes that the rapture is imminent with no prophetic events occurring before the rapture of the church which
rapazoe> all Matt 24: 1-28 & all seals 1-5 all take place before DOL

TOM> they believe will happen in conjunction with the Day of the LORD.
rapazoe> they are actually correct – the rapture occurs in verse 31 which is already into the Day of the Lord. The cause of most of the problems with pre-trib is that they confuse the Tribulation of Satan with the Wrath of God. If they could just unfuse these events some of their ideas would survive.
The great insight of pre-wrath is the un-fusing of the tribulation of Satan & the Wrath of God.
The tribulation of Satan occurs at the end of this present age.
The wrath of God occurs at the beginning of the Day of the Lord right after the rapture in vs 24:31

TOM>
1. Elijah will be sent before the Day of the LORD, Malachi 4:5.
2. A rebellion or apostasy will occur, II Thessalonians 2:2.
3. The man of lawlessness will be revealed, II Thessalonians 2:2-3.
4. The cosmic disturbances will be given as a sign before the Day of the LORD, Joel 2:31.
rapazoe> YES 1.2.3 …. but 4. NO … NOT before ! … this IS the sign of the beginning of the DOL
DOL begins at verse Matt 24:29 … Jesus is very clear on this point

TOM>
A common response by pretribbers presented throughout the video is that there must be 2 different Days of the LORD,
rapazoe>
the DOL has different parts … but all happen in the 1000 year Day of the Lord
The DOL and Jesus is introduced in Matt 24:29-31 & 6th seal
The DOL wrath of God follows at Seal 7.
The DOL kingdom of God begins after the 7th seal wrath & Armageddon

TOM>
II. The Olivet Discourse Problem. The rapture is described in Matthew 24:30-31. There are many signs that happen before the rapture which are recorded in Matthew 24:1-28.
rapazoe>
OK call them signs … All Matt 24:1-28 are the sequence of events leading up to the DOL at verse Matt 24:29. …. AND … very happy to see you got the order correct … Matthew 24:30-31 … pre-wrath reverses the order that Jesus laid down in Olivet discourse … a fundamental problem. TOM you are a pre-wrath heretic !!!

TOM>
There is an insistence among pretribbers that the Olivet Discourse does not concern the church at all.
rapazoe>
clearly a false pretrib concept … among sooooooooo many
I watched one youtube video where the pre-tribber claimed that none of the gospel teachings were for the church but rather the Jews. They claim that Paul’s teachings are for the church. weird or what !

TOM>
III. The 2nd Thessalonians Problem.
rapazoe>
Yes it is a big problem for pre-trib imminence.

TOM>
Some pretribulationalists respond by teaching that the apostasia is the rapture.
rapazoe>
pre-tribbers need to inject a rapture before the tribulation to support their fundamental false concept. … just all wrong … so sad.

TOM>
IV. The Revelation Problem. The seals are the result of antichrist’s working, not the wrath of God.
rapazoe>
YES … just more pre-trib nonsense. … try not to read anything pre-trib …

TOM>
An examination of the sixth seal shows a precursor to the Day of the LORD by way of cosmic disturbance. The wrath of God in the Day of the LORD has not yet occurred as of the sixth seal since it is a specific sign portending the Day of the LORD and His wrath.
rapazoe>
The 6th seal IS the beginning of the DOL & aligns perfectly with Matt 24:29
The confusion here TOM is that you are assuming that the DOL is only wrath.
That is a false idea … there are phases to the DOL … rapture, wrath, kingdom
The DOL begins at Math 24:29 with an introduction of Jesus parousia and then the rapture of the saints all happening very quickly … mayb all at the same time … . The DOL continues with phase 2 … the wrath of God. Matt 24 does not record the wrath of God because the church is gone at verse 31 and not subject to wrath. Proof that the olivet discourse is for the church.

TOM>
But there is a true parallel with the sixth seal and the coming of Christ in Matthew 24:29-31.
rapazoe>
YES ! … just accept that whatever events happen before Matt 24:29 and Rev 6:12 are pre-DOL.

TOM>
The multitude in Revelation 7:9-17 is describing the church coming out of the great tribulation.
rapazoe>
YES … equivalent to Matt 24: 29-31 the rapture happens at this point after or at the parousia of Jesus and just before the wrath of God. Truly pre-wrath in a scriptural sense.

TOM>
V. The Imminence Problem. This is a keystone for the pretrib position.
rapazoe>
Yes a problem … just more & more pretrib nonsense piling up.

TOM>
Another set of scriptures which are used to teach imminence are called “be good because Jesus is returning”. The fear of being caught in the act of sinning because of the return of Jesus is taught as essential to the Christian faith. This seems to be a deficient view of discipleship. Instead, Christians should live godly lives in light of the fact that they have been given eternal life. This is based on Christ’s work instead of our own.
rapazoe>
I agree TOM … The video mentions the doctrine of “sanctification” can only be supported by an imminent fear of the return of the Lord. Strange … considering that many or most pre-tribbers are baptist who believe in eternal security. … Just mooooooooooooooore nonsense.

TOM>
Another category is that “Christians will not go through the wrath”. This of course does not equal imminence, but serves as proof of a prewrath rapture. Another set of scriptures trying (desperately) to prove imminence is “the rapture is a good thing”.
rapazoe>
The rapture IS a good thing … the best thing … it is our SALVATION … to be delivered from the tribulation of Satan in this present age and then also delivered from the wrath of God in the next DOL age.
Rom 5:8-9  But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him.

TOM>
“the nearness texts”. The meaning of near in these verses is relative because of the fact that these verses were written almost 2,000 years ago. James 5:7-9, instead of insisting on nearness, is really teaching patience in light of Christ’s coming. The video parallels this with Matthew 24:32-35 which contains the same language and insists on “all these things” (meaning signs of Christ’s coming) occurring before that. The definition of near cannot mean any-moment.
rapazoe>
WOW ! … I have been just looking into this word “near”.
because I have the same question … 2,000 years ago is not near in time so what does it mean ??? Two thoughts …
1. near as in relationship … ie kinsman redeemer
sometimes we use the word … akin which also means near … a “kin” person is a “near” person
2. near as in “in the hand” – a certain thing … ” a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” … not “at hand” soon but “in hand” its for certain a 100% sure thing.

TOM>
This is also referring to unbelievers who will be unprepared and be caught like a thief, while believers who are prepared will not be surprised like a thief, see I Thessalonians 5:1-11 in context. If you tell someone to watch, there is something that they must be watching for.
rapazoe>
1Th 5:4  But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

TOM>
VI. The Church and Israel Problem.
rapazoe>
Yes a problem … introduced by pre-trib dispensationalism.
Just ignore it and hope it goes away …
What about this … !
Rev 7:4  I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel:
Israel is mentioned in Revelation at the introduction of the DOL and at the time of the rapture … BUT … the parallel in Matt 24 does not mention Israel.
Meaning the Olivet discourse is not for Israel … but for the church.

TOM>
VII. The Early Church Problem. The writings of the early church pose a seriously problem for the pretrib rapture.
rapazoe>
YES … a pre-trib rapture cannot be found there. … surprised ! … NO

TOM>
Prewrath scholars appear giving interview type answers to common questions regarding the timing of the rapture according to a plain sense reading of scripture.
rapazoe>
“plain sense reading of scripture” … NOT so fast … pre-wrath needs to explain how they can live with Van Kampen’s mutilation of scripture.
Robert Van Kampen wrote in his book “the sign” – page 281
Van Kampen>
“It is interesting to note that the disciples asked their questions in the specific order that these event will occur – first Christ will return, and then God will pour out judgment at “the end of the age.”
Likewise, in Matthew 24:4-29 Christ answers these questions in the order asked by the disciples.
rapazoe>
Yes the disciples ask Jesus to explain the order of events and Jesus does just that in the Olivet discourse including Matt 29-31.

Van Kampen>
But in verse 30 Christ makes it clear that the sign will occur in the reverse sequence of the events: that is, the sign of the end of the age actually precedes the sign of Christ’s coming.
rapazoe>
NO! – false statement – Christ did not make it clear in vs30 or anywhere else that the sequence is reversed … just a false concept introduced by Van Kampen. … why ? because pre-wrath wants to adopt the pre-trib idea of immanence into the pre-wrath system. Read parousia magazine edition 6 and see that the pre-wrath system was developed to “harmonize” pre-trib” and “post-trib”.
Pre-wrath was developed in the shadow of pre-trib … thats why it is problematic.

Van Kampen>
It is essential to understand the order of this sequence according to the way Christ taught that this will occur, that the sign of the end of the age will actually precede the sign of His coming,
rapazoe>
Yes – sign of the end of the age Matt 24: 27-28 does precede the sign of His coming DOL … Matt 24: 29,30,31 … so what! The end of this present age occurs at the beginning of the DOL age – Just like New Years eve precedes New Years day. Van Kampen makes no sense here.
Christ will appear on New Years day (DOL) Lords Day … 7th day … after this age is done.
The Lord appears in His Day … the Day of the Lord and not before during this present 6th day age.

Van Kampen>
“strange as that may seem, in light of the fact that Christ’s coming will actually precede the Day of the Lord.”
rapazoe>
STRANGE indeed ! – and also false ! … Just follow what Christ actually taught and NOT Van Kampen. Its clear & not complicated.
No need to be a genius phd to figure it out … just read the scripture vs 29-31. The sequence is this. This is what Jesus said … Do not listen to or follow Van Kampen or other pre-wrath “teachers”.

Again, here is the simple sequence of events as Jesus taught in the Olivet discourse.
1. 29 – sun … moon … stars darkened (Day of the Lord)
2. 30 – Son of Man coming on the Clouds (parousia)
3. 31 – gather together (rapture)

Mat 24:4  Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
Mat 24:25  “Behold, I have told you beforehand.

rapazoe> well …. I think im done like dinner
28 sept 2020

I need to correct a comment I made above
rapazoe>
The rapture IS a good thing … the best thing … it is our SALVATION … to be delivered from the tribulation of Satan in this present age and then also delivered from the wrath of God in the next DOL age.
the believer is not delivered from the tribulation of Satan in this present age. The believers salvation is secure if he/she endures to the end. The “end” may be the end of this age OR the end of our life as many martyrs will happen during the tribulation. Just NEVER give up your faith in Jesus!

Rom 5:8-9 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him.

before the great & terrible day

Hey TOM
I looked into the word “before” used
in Joel 2:31

rapazoe>
Joel 2:31  The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.
Does it mean that these signs are a separate distinct events that will occur days or years before the actual Day of the Lord?

The word used here is H6440 – paneh
BDB Definition:
1) face
1a) face, faces
1b) presence, person
1c) face (of seraphim or cherubim)
1d) face (of animals)
1e) face, surface (of ground)
1f) as adverb of loc/temp

H6440 is derived from H6437
BDB Definition:
1) to turn
1a) (Qal)
1a1) to turn toward or from or away
1a2) to turn and do
1a3) to turn, decline (of day)
1a4) to turn toward, approach (of evening)
1a5) to turn and look, look, look back or at or after or for

The word before here means a face turning indicating the initial action that introduces the entire person. The face is the first thing you see and is NOT disconnected from the body. You may recognize someone in a crowd because you catch a glimpse of their face without seeing their entire body but you know the entire person is there also.

“before” the Day of the Lord indicates that the signs in the sun and moon are a pre-face to another chapter. They are not disconnected from the Day of the Lord as a separate event but rather the first visible thing that will introduce the Day of the Lord.

The content of the Day of the Lord follows or could be considered an intimate part of that that pre-face signs. Just like a pre-face to the next chapter in a book there may be some introductory text or even a picture or a Bible verse.

The following verses are an intimate part of that 24:29 pre-face or introduction to the body of content chapter7/day7 – Day of the Lord.
24:30 – parousia of Jesus
24:31 – rapture

Does it mean that these signs are a separate distinct events that will occur days or years before the actual Day of the Lord?
NO ! definitely not separate. The sun/moon preface sign cannot be separated from verses 24:30,31. They are signs or pre-face of what is to follow.

Mat 24:4  Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.

Kingdom work

A response to the following post:

rapazo> I think some confusion with the title: The Church: Working for the Kingdom of God
I think more scriptural to say: The Church: Working IN the Kingdom of God
Not a huge change but shifts the emphasis to Jesus as the builder/architect and the believers as workers following the plans & instructions giving by Jesus. Until the end of the age and after the wrath of Jesus is complete at which time His kingdom theocracy will be established on earth.
rapazoe>
I need to be more precise in my comment.
I do not subscribe to the view that the mission of the church is to build a political empire (theocracy) on earth as in the 7 mountains theology. See below.
I cannot find anywhere in scripture that this is the mission of the church. In fact, Jesus said:
Mat 16:18  I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19  I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
Mat 16:20  Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
What are the keys to the kingdom ? … the gospel opens the kingdom to all believers to enter in and become a citizen.

What is Dominion theology ?
https://dominion-theology.blogspot.com/
Dominion Theology, also called “Kingdom Now Theology,” is a false teaching stating that man is commissioned to bring the entire world under the dominion of Christianity, by force if necessary, and then, hand over the Christianized world to Jesus when he comes.

What is 7 Mountain Politics and Theology
https://bereanresearch.org/7-mountain-politics-theology/
posted by Marsha West on in New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), Politics 3
What is “7 Mountains” theology? Supposedly there are “7 mountains” of global society – Media, Government, Education, Economy, Religion, Entertainment and Family. Conquering these areas of influence is the key to taking a nation for the kingdom of God. The 7 Mountain mandate is the brainchild of the Dominionist movement. Over the years Dominionists have gone by many names including Latter Rain/Kingdom Now /Joel’s Army/Manifest Sons of God and most recently the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). Modern day “apostles” and “prophets” have a plan to aggressively “retake the reins of our country” for Christ. In other words, they believe that Christians must occupy and subdue the world as God’s stewards of the earth. Moreover these people believe it is a Christian’s duty to go into the world using “spiritual warfare” tactics to crush evil before Jesus Christ’s final return. So guess who’s one of the movers and shakers in the apostate NAR movement? None other than “apostle” Rafael Cruz. For those who don’t know who this man is, he’s Sen. Ted Cruz’s father.

Reminders from scripture who is responsible for what !

rapazoe>
Act 15:16  ‘After these things I will return. I will again build the tabernacle of David, which has fallen. I will again build its ruins. I will set it up,
– Jesus will set up the kingdom of David on earth when he returns. … not before
rapazoe>
Mar 14:58  “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.’”
– again Jesus will build the temple which is the church.
rapazoe>
Mat 24:14  This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
– preaching the Good News of the Kingdom is the work of the church … not building it.
rapazoe>
Here (post-wrath) is exactly where the Kingdoms of the world become the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 11:15-19 WEB
15  The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”
16  The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.
18  The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19  God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

where am I ???

rapazoe>
Alan Kurschner states the classic Van-Kampen pre-wrath order of events !

Part 1. The Antichrist’s Great Tribulation
Part 2. The Rapture of God’s People
Part 3. The Day of the Lord’s Wrath

really easy to refute Kurschner’s classic pre-wrath position
with the Matt:24 Olivet Discourse of Jesus !
Thank God we have the Bible to read and know the truth.

Matthew 24:29-31 NASB

29  “But immediately after the tribulation of those days
THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

30  “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky,
and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn,
and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

31  “And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET
and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds,
from one end of the sky to the other.

The order of events as outlined by Jesus
What Every Christian Needs to Know about the Return of Christ

  1. The Antichrist’s Great Tribulation
  2. The Day of the Lord’s Wrath
  3. The Rapture of God’s People

Judge for yourself:
Kurschner’s book or Jesus Olivet discourse.

Caveat emptor is Latin for “Let the buyer beware”
or as Jesus said many times in Matt 24:

Matthew 24:23-26 NASB
23  “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him.
24  “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
25  “Behold, I have told you in advance.
26  “So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them.
